Services/Equipment
We manufacture a complete line of clarifier, thickener and trickling filter components. A prime example of our forward thinking products is our new line of retrofit scum skimmers designed to replace all makes of clarifier and thickener scum skimmers. It is all hot dipped galvanized steel, stainless steel fasteners throughout and uses Frelon and Stainless Steel bearings. This unit comes with a five year warrantee against rust through and bearing failure.

Clarifier and Thickener Hot-Bypass Capability
G.M.H. Associate of America, Inc. is offering a new procedure perfected and tested by us. This procedure has been used for many customers over the past 3 years in emergency situations. We call it the “Hot-Bypass”.
Basically a Hot-Bypass for a clarifier or thickener is the use of strategically placed pumps, piping and controls to harvest sludge off the bottom of a clarifier/thickener while the flow continues and the clarifier/thickener remains on line.
This procedure has been used for emergency bypass when a catastrophic drive failure would have otherwise required clarifier/thickener shutdown and subsequent plant shut down. Further it has been used for maintenance work such as drive replacement when normal procedures would have required clarifier/thickener shut down and subsequent plant shut down. This procedure has been proven time and again with out any problems on start-up or in process.
It should be noted that our “Hot Bypass” experience has shown us that effluent turbidity quality can degrade an average of 50% to 100% during the “Hot Bypass” procedure. (This would mean for a secondary clarifier with an original effluent turbidity of .1 PPM to could go to between .15 and .20 PPM) Further sludge density can degrade an average of 100% to 300%.(This would mean for a secondary clarifier with an original underflow of 3.5% solids could go to 1.75% to 1.16% solids) Further please note that on several occasions the actual effluent numbers got better so it is entirely dependent on system specifics and we can only estimate qualities.
These procedures come from actual projects for which we can give references on request.
We specialize in clarifier, thickener and trickling filter drive and mechanical retrofits, repairs, upgrades and new installations.
